We all have the need to be satisfied – in relationships, money, children, love, or “stuff.”
But needs are relative.
Some women think they need a pedicure every week, or they won’t feel good about themselves.
Some people say they need to lose weight to be happy.
Others need organic meat and groceries.
Some might think they need “just a little more money each month” to make their problems disappear.
And still others need the support of friends and family.
But where does it end? When do we stop “needing”? Are we ever satisfied? Is it ever enough?
Through every situation, I see a common denominator. The “need” for something.
I would like to challenge you to stop looking.
You have everything you’ve ever needed, in Christ alone.
But wait! What about paying my bills? What if I can’t put food on the table? What if my boyfriend just dumped me? What about my pedicure???
Those things will still be there. But, guess what? So will Jesus.
He will never leave you, nor forsake you. He is ALL you need. (Deuteronomy 31:5-7)
Cling to Him when you are worried. Cling to him when you are unsure or confused.
People will always disappoint you. Christ won’t.
Money is fleeting…it’s here one minute and gone another. Not God.
Those extra pounds on your hips? Well, they may be sticking around longer than you like, but God will never out stay His welcome.
He is waiting with outstretched arms. His heart aches for you.
You will be completely satiated when you give everything to God. Everything else will come and go, but Jesus will never leave your side. You can count on that.
Let God be your satisfaction.
Everything else will fall into place.
